Saddles increase the number of items allowed to be carried on a horse – not the weight. Weight is unique to each horse and can not be changed except by attaching to a cart or wagon.
The first craftable saddle is called Coarse Light Saddle and is the only one compared to the others that doesnt need a Horse Tack Bench to be made. It is crafted in your inventory.
When your character hits level 14 you are able to craft a Coarse Light Saddle that you need to ride a horse. Press “P” to open “Crafting & Recipes” and unlock “Basic Saddle”. The Coarse Light Saddle contains 5 inventory slots.
- Open your inventory with “I” and hover over the Saddle to see which items you need to craft it
- Straw Rope, Coarse Hide and Bark are the required items
Hold “E” on the horse and open the inventory and place the crafted saddle in the seperate slot on the right side of the mounts inventory. Now you are able to ride your horse by pressing “E”.
